The biggest issue with the film was that it was based on Ancient Egypt, right?
This action fantasy adventure has its fair share of critics, but none more than those who like their films to be historically accurate. The 2017 reboot of the 1999 classic of the same name starred Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe, two men who are probably used to ending up on lists of bloopers like this.
So, if that was the case, no princess would have been able to become a Pharaoh. It was impossible, so the whole movie makes no sense. We don’t want to add any more salt into the wounds, especially as this movie was panned when it came out, but we’re sticklers for detail.
Captain America: The First Avenger
This 2011 movie was one of the first big Marvel hits, after Iron Man, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t come with its own problems. The movie stars Chris Evans as the titular character, also known as Steve Rogers. As a rejected military soldier, we watch as he takes the ‘Super Soldier’ serum and turns into Captain America himself.
The movie is set during the times of World War II, so it’s important that the Marvel bosses tried to remain historically accurate – despite it being a superhero movie, of course. Many WWII history nerds couldn’t help but point out one big flaw with Peggy Carter. Her hair wasn’t regulation! It would have had to have been off the collar and not down to her shoulders.
The Informant
The Informant stars Matt Damon as an informant who is helping the U.S. government go after a business mogul who has been accused of price fixing. It’s an excellent drama, released back in 2009, that managed to scoop up two Golden Globe nominations. However, there was a slight issue in the costume department.
The movie is set back in 1991 and the majority of the costuming and hair shows off this early 1990s style quite well. However, Matt Damon’s character is seen sporting a pair of Nike golf shoes – and he’s not the only one. A few of the male characters are seen in these shoes, but there’s a problem. Nike didn’t start making golf shoes until five years later.
The Doors
This Oliver Stone movie is a biographical look at Jim Morrison, the legendary lead singer https://www.hookupdate.net/escort-index/west-covina/ of The Doors. It starts with his life as a student at UCLA, before following his rise to fame and his untimely passing. It’s an epic movie, starring Val Kilmer as the frontman, but there are a few problems with the costuming… Again!
The Doors fans know that Jim Morrison was a fan of wearing aviator sunglasses, which we see a lot of in the movie. The issue is that these aviators are Ray-Bans, which hadn’t been invented in the 1960s when the film was set. This means he had either traveled forward in time or the costume department hadn’t done their homework.
Gladiator
It seems as though there are quite a few bloopers and blunders in Gladiator… We wonder if they could go back in time, would they take all the errors out of this legendary film? Or does the fact they’re in there make it even more legendary in a way? We’ve seen gas canisters and a name that didn’t exist yet, but what about this?
You can see, underneath the armor that Russell Crowe is wearing, a pair of bike shorts. These definitely wouldn’t have been a thing in Ancient Rome! We’re not sure if they were there because he had forgotten to take them off, because they were comfier than a costume, or just to cover his decency. Either way, get rid of the shorts!
